It's become a common occurrence for image copyright owners to use tools like Google Reverse Image Search or tineye to find where their image has been published online. When someone didn't pay for the use, a lawyer will be contacted to send a demand letter to collect money.

These "copyright infringement demand letters" are often designed to scare website owners into paying a relatively high amount for the problem to go away.
